This large jar has a lipped mouth, straight neck, and a gracefully curved belly, presenting a full and dignified shape. The body is made of thick and solid material, and the glaze exhibits a moist and bluish hue. The entire jar is decorated with colorful fish and aquatic plant patterns, displaying a sense of ancient simplicity and strength. The brushwork is unrestrained yet retains a sense of charm, with a natural distribution of fish and aquatic plants. During the Jiajing period, this type of decoration was known as "Manchi Jiao," meaning "charming as a full pond." Inside a blue-bordered square on the rim, there is an inscription in regular script that reads "Made in the Jiajing Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty." This kind of large jar with fish and aquatic plant patterns was specifically called "fish jar" during the Jiajing period.
